I just started a new romance novel for the Honeyfeed contest.
Eric lives a frugal life as he works to pay down his student debt and to keep a roof over his head. After working overtime for weeks, he’s fired for one mistake. Depressed and worried about not have enough money for rent, he wanders around aimlessly. Not paying attention, he crosses the road at the wrong time and gets hit by a car.
He wakes up in the hospital with broken ribs and a few bumps and bruises. The one who hit him is none other than the gorgeous Charlotte Burne, the CEO of Burne Technologies. After finding out about his situation, she offers him an odd deal. He can live with her as a kept man; all he has to do is greet her, eat meals with her, and genuinely be her companion – like a loyal pet.
With nothing to lose, he agrees.
Will this accidental encounter turn into a budding romance? How will Eric adapt to his new life? What in Charlotte’s past is haunting her? Will he be able to heal her heart while being in a world he feels he doesn’t belong in?
